Toph Beifong responds to a crime scene

Context:

Hallow Boulevard, Republic City, February 9, 142 AG.

An unnamed member of the Terra Triad's head was cut in half after Lin Beifong, who at the time was a high-ranking police officer, intercepted a getaway car from a robbery. After successfully stopping the vehicle by the use of a metal cable, Lin discovers the suspects to be Suyin and her friends, who were members of the Terra Triad. Angered over her sister's involvement with the Terra Triad, Lin remained unconvinced after Suyin insisted that she only drove the getaway car as a favor, Lin then threatened her as she began to walk away from the scene. After Suyin dismissed her, Lin tried to apprehend her by snagging her wrist with a cable only to be cut by her exasperated sibling, which according to Lin, resulted in it snapping back and tragically slicing Suyin's friend.

Though according to Suyin, Lin intentionally sliced her friend's head as a form of protest against her actions.

Upon receiving the news, Toph Beifong who was Chief of Police at the time, arrived at the scene with a team of metalbending police. Not being able to see the bloody scene, she instructed her team to clean up the scene for further investigation, while she takes both of her daughters to her office to privately discuss the matter. "You two have put me in an impossible position." said Toph as she forced her daughters into the backseat of her car.
